THE STORY BEHIND THE DRESS

Mediterranean Light. Family Legacy. A Promise Kept.

THE ATELIER

Alessandro

Alessandro built his shop on the cliffs of Positano with hard work and care. He makes his dresses slowly, inspired by the warm sun and the idea that summer should feel easy.

He makes every piece by hand and presses every hem himself. He picks his fabrics for how they feel in the sea breeze, not for how they look in a picture.

For more than forty years, Alessandro has worked this way. He works quietly and patiently, believing that making things well is its own kind of love.

THE HEART

Margaret

Alessandro didn't build the shop alone. Margaret traveled to Positano from Savannah, Georgia, in her twenties, and she never left his side.
She loved the beautiful dresses they made, but she always thought about the women back home. Sitting by the sea, she would dream of sharing this warm, easy feeling with women in places like Georgia, New York, and Florida.
"This feeling belongs there too. These dresses, they were made for American women. We just haven't told them yet." Margaret Vetucci

Together, they raised their daughter Lucia in a home that smelled of fresh fabric, coffee, and the ocean breeze. Lucia grew up watching her father work patiently with his hands while her mother dreamed big for their family's future.

THE PROMISE

"Promise me you'll go. Promise me you'll take the dresses there. That's where they belong."

When Margaret got sick, she asked Alessandro and Lucia to sit down with her. She did not want to say goodbye just yet. Instead, she needed them to make a special promise. For years, she had held onto the dream of bringing their family's dresses to America. She pictured women wearing their linen in places like Charleston, Malibu, and Nantucket. She used to sketch out this exact idea over and over on the back of paper tablecloths during family dinners.

Alessandro and Lucia made that promise.

TODAY

Lucia

After Margaret passed away, the shop kept going. Alessandro focused on his work, and Lucia made sure they kept their promise to her mother. She had grown up to have her mother's bright energy and her father's careful skills.

Together, they moved to the United States. They did not do it just to build a business. They did it to make Margaret's dream come true.

Today, Alessandro is still the master craftsman. Lucia leads the way by connecting with people and carrying her family's vision forward.

Every dress Vetucci sells carries three things: Mediterranean light. Family legacy. And a promise kept.
